COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Raise the Roof Project seeks to do more than just repair roofs in the South Broad Strret community.   We are called to serve in this area to bring people into the Presence of Christ.  Our desire is to partner with neighborhood churches and community action groups to determine the strengths and gifts of the community.  We strive to facilitate healing and hope.  Whether through a new roof, a community lunch, a Bible study for young mothers, or other forms of outreach, we want to share the love of Christ and glorify Him.  We are grateful to Romal Tune for spending time in the community in March, 2015.

PROJECTS

HOME REPAIR MINISTRY

The Raise the Roof Project connects volunteers with families in the South Broad Street community of Mobile, Alabama, located two miles southeast of Dauphin Way UMC, to repair damaged roofs and provide safe, dry living conditions.

Mobile is annually among the top cities in our country for the amount of rainfall, and with the annual threat of hurricane season, a dry home is often a safe haven for families and neighbors.

For more information about our mission and how to join, please see ABOUT US and GET INVOLVED or CONTACT US for more information.

TAYLOR PARK COMMUNITY GARDEN

Located at 1050 Baltimore St. in Mobile, the Taylor Park Community Garden is a food source by residents of the Taylor Park Community, for residents of the Taylor Park Community.  The garden provides agricultural experience, education and a source for fresh fruits and vegetables for the neighborhood's residents.

To get involved, contact the Inner City Mission at 251-432-1122 for information about donation needs and community workdays.
